What is Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes and its applications?

Incoloy is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy that is part of the family of 800 series of alloy. The ease of manufacture is one such advantage that uses the same machinery and methods as stainless steel. While a simple form of Incoloy is widely used in general, further alloying with enhancing elements gives additional resistance to chemical and environmental corrosion, as well as physical degradation such as surface pitting and cracking.

Incoloy Material

Incoloy is a nickel, iron, and chromium alloy with molybdenum, copper, and titanium additions. The chemical composition of the alloy is meant to provide outstanding resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments.

Difference between Inconel and Incoloy

The key difference between them is their composition. Nickel-chrome alloy Inconel typically contains over 50% Nickel while Incoloy contains less than 50 % Nickel. Inconel contains Nickel-Iron-Chrome alloy.

Characteristics of Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes

  • High temperatures optimism
  • Creep rupture strength is extremely high.
  • Excellent resistance to sulphur-containing chemicals.
  • Industrial heaters Components and systems
  • Petrochemical Producing
  • Pressure vessels and heat exchangers are examples of heat-treating equipment
  • Hydrocarbon Cracking

Applications Of Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes

  • Valves, fittings, and other components exposed to corrosive attack from industrial furnaces operating at temperatures ranging from 1100-1800°F
  • Heat-treating systems
  • Cracking of Hydrocarbons
  • Super-heaters and re-heaters in power stations
  • High-pressure vessel
  • Heat exchangers

Alloy 800H Welded Tubes are used in heat-treating equipment like baskets, trays, and fixtures (also known as WNR 1.4958 Welded Pipe). These UNS N08810 Welded Tubes are used in the chemical and petrochemical processing industries for heat exchangers and other nitric acid piping systems, particularly where resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking is needed. Incoloy 800H Welded Tube are used in power stations for super-heater and re-heater tubing.
Alloys 800H Welded Tubes are used in a variety of applications that require exposure to corrosive environments and high temperatures, such as heat treating machinery, chemical and petrochemical processing, nuclear power plants, and the paper pulp industry.  Incoloy 800H Welded Tubes is used in heat-treating facilities like baskets, trays, and fixtures.
Incoloy is the optimal material for elevated temperature, but less critical, applications because of its higher ferrous content and correspondingly lower cost. The fact that it can be manufactured with the same equipment and processes as stainless steel, is a benefit.
This alloy is also available in different grades, with a focus on resistance to aggressive corrosion, especially in aqueous environments. While a simple form of Incoloy 800H Welded Tube is suitable for most applications, further alloying with enhancing components improves resistance to chemical and environmental corrosion, as well as physical deterioration such as surface pitting and cracking.
